The Whole Point of a Blog...

...is that you update it and let people know what's going on in your life. Which I have not done in many moons. However, I've been doing not too badly at emailing everybody different bits and pieces of news so I don't have to feel as bad :)
I'm still working at Peoples Jewellers. I'll attach a photo at the bottom. It's a pretty snazzy jeweller as far as they go over here so I was fortunate to land a job here instead of at the darkish, grungy jewellers down the way from us in the mall. Work's going great. Sales have dropped considerably since Christmas while everyone pays off their Visa bills but we had a couple of amazing days over Valentine's Day--I did over $3,000 by myself the day before! Our manager was let go and one of the other girls is filling in and doing a great job. The rest of us newbies are being trained up to open the store, close the store, do bank deposits, you name it--all the fun responsibilites you can easily get fired for doing wrong :P
I've graduated to (nearly) the full bagpipes, just missing the drones on the top. It's probably the hardest thing I've ever tried to do and I'm ridiculously frustrated with the whole thing but Glenn still keeps telling me it's going great and it shouldn't be too long until I can be out on parade with the band. I just tell him he's dreaming :)
We're having a very non-Canadian winter. We've had virtually no snow. The most excitement we had was the day after it rained and then froze overnight--the whole backyard was a solid smooth skating rink so we went ice skating. Yesterday it snowed most of the day and so now we probably have about 4-6 inches but it's meant to warm up by tomorrow and melt it all again. Works well for ease of farming and not having your fingers and nose freeze off so much but it doesn't make the cows feel great when the weather can't make up its mind which temperature it wants to be at. We need a few days of a good cold snap to kill all the bugs. The cows also all have lice so we're treating them for that.
It's only 15 days until I fly out for Australia!! I'll be over for 6 weeks and a few days. Very excited to see everybody and spend over a week up in QLD with the family there. Been a long time :)
I came second in the FarmFlicks competition. The girl who one had about 150 more views than I did so she did a good job.
I'll attach a couple more photos and catch up with you all soon!

  1. Well Esther! I check your blog regularly and am glad to see an update as we haven't been the lucky few to receive emails obviously! ;-) Guess we'll see you when you're back in Oz in a week or so! Safe travels.
